Why HN links it
Personal site of Nathan Lilienthal with math pages such as a Fibonacci post, rendered client-side with MathJax. One commenter compares it to their own MathJax setup and asks about the page-loading point.

Heh, software in general, absolutely! But I think the "Web 2.0" is the worst offender: https://nixpulvis.com/ramblings/2018-08-11-web-shit-point-oh

HN discussionThat's just a bunch of marketing hype. I'm trying to stay focused closer to the matters at hand. Perhaps my rambling on Development vs Distribution is relevant to the discussion? https://nixpulvis.com/ramblings/2021-02-02-signing-and-notar...

HN discussionInteresting. Am I missing something? I went to https://nixpulvis.com/math/01-fibonacci and it appears to be effectively the same as what I have for MathJax -- pushing the raw LaTeX commands into a specially-labeled HTML element, and then loading the MathJax JS from cdnjs.cloudflare.com in order to process and render them client-side.

If you want a more level headed overview of code signing differences, you can read this post I wrote back when this issue started coming to a head the first time back in 2021: https://nixpulvis.com/ramblings/2021-02-02-signing-and-notar... on “Redox – A Unix-Like Operating System Written in Rust”I wrote a little thing about signing and notarization recently. I don't harp on the details of the actual platform processes, because the argument is that even if the process was smooth, it's completely unacceptable. https://nixpulvis.com/ramblings/2021-02-02-signing-and-notar... There are issues with the way we develop and distribute applications and software in general, but none of the major platforms are doing an…

on “The Gates to Hell: Apple’s Notarizing”My favorite "GUI" is just text. The shell interface is, for me, the best [1]. It's very rarely ambiguous, and it works well for many people, even people without vision. [1] https://nixpulvis.com/ramblings/2018-07-11-building-a-shell-... on “The exponential function is a miracle”I deleted my Facebook, stopped using Twitter, and even gave up projects on GitHub. I recently wrote a little rant about the death of my iPhone [1]... to be honest, I don't know how to live anymore. As much as I try to solve my problems, I find new ones in isolation. It's complicated and sad. [1]: https://nixpulvis.com/ramblings/2021-09-30-death-to-an-iphon...

on “Building your own shell using Rust”> speaking of that, would be nice if github provided rendering of music notation :) https://opensheetmusicdisplay.org should fit the bill, though you may need a tool to generate the MusicXML. on “Mary Dash's Writing Tips”This is awesome. I have just started https://nixpulvis.com/math/10-overview as a way to index notation and LaTeX syntax for myself. I'll be sure to read though this from time to time. I was going to start adding D3 and all that, but now I'm wondering if I can just incorporate this. I too am using MathJax.
