HN discussionYou should try NotePlan https://noteplan.co/ - pretty decent search, tags, markdown-like syntax and calendar on both mac and iPhone apps.

HN discussionHi, I had exactly the same problem and was also using a moleskine journal/calendar kind of notebook for every day. I couldn't find any apps supporting my style of workflow, so I designed NotePlan ( http://noteplan.co ) for Mac, iPhone and iPad: NotePlan is a daily planner app based on markdown. You can - fill a note with todos and other text for every day (just like moleskin). - You have a calendar with an overview…

HN discussionI recently discovered Noteplan after trying and failing to find a good notes app for years. It's geared towards programmers and techy folk, and it lets you make simple Org-mode style notes with markdown, and integrates pretty well with your other calendar apps. http://noteplan.co/

HN discussionI tried obsidian but felt it had too many gears and knobs and spent too many times fiddling with them. I fell back on this app which is based on local markdown storage but takes it up a notch. https://noteplan.co The fact that everything is in plain text files on my computer is very important for me and future proofed.

HN discussionNotePlan (Apple-ecosystem only) is pretty awesome for this: https://noteplan.co , though their new pricing plan is ridiculous (current subscribers unaffected). The files are all stored locally in plain text. There's a growing plugin ecosystem as well. There are some mildly annoying, long-outstanding bugs like ordered lists not re-ordering as expected, but overall it's a very good app.

on “My productivity system”Looks nice! I am a huge fan of https://noteplan.co . They do many things right such as using iCloud for syncing with iOS and markdown seems like a natural choice to me. What I am missing is just what you offer. A focused task with a pomodoro timer... Maybe you should work together?
