HN discussionThe point of https://patrickcollison.com/fast is not that everything has to be fast, but that you can probably do it faster than you think. Quoting https://nat.org/ : "time is the denominator"

HN discussionI always found this question pretty impossible to answer. There are so many books that i find myself wanting to recommend, and the list soon becomes unmanageable. So, instead i'm going to provide a different resource - Patrick collisons whole library. He color coats the books he thinks are great, and lists hundreds of books. https://patrickcollison.com/bookshelf

Moving here from South Carolina(where taxes are much lower and roads are paltry) I was shocked at how dismal a state many of the roads are and at the sheer amount of time it takes to complete. Patrick Collison of Stripe actually wrote a blog piece(1)…

HN discussionAssuming this question is made in good faith: air pollution as generated from coal and methane ("natural gas") is really bad and much worse than previously realized: https://patrickcollison.com/pollution . The literature on it is credible: https://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2021/12/wh... Nuclear produces no air pollution. It produces no direct greenhouse gases.
