What Hacker News says?
This article really helped me. It basically builds Phoenix from the ground up. Starting with "hello world" in the terminal. http://www.petecorey.com/blog/2019/05/20/minimum-viable-phoe...

HN discussionCould you expand on what you mean by Elixir being homoiconic? That doesn’t seem readily apparent to me, and is contradicted by posts such as http://www.petecorey.com/blog/2017/08/07/what-if-elixir-were...

HN discussionAlchemist Camp has good video tutorials https://alchemist.camp Also this blog post helped my understanding http://www.petecorey.com/blog/2019/05/20/minimum-viable-phoe... Phoenix LiveView [0] is really exciting to try out in Elixir. I'd recommend building an auto updating dashboard. I had a micro controller that had various sensors on it that I connected to over a serial port using circuits_uart[1]. I then read the…

HN discussionI'd like to invite you to the Other Side Of The Force, Grant. http://www.petecorey.com/blog/2017/08/07/what-if-elixir-were... It's much more pretty over there. I haven't looked at Elixir but I have read a bit about Supervisors which I think are an excellent idea for fault tolerant systems. However, the phrase "self healing" is thrown around a lot in talks about Elixir, as if it's a magical feature of the language, w…

HN discussionThat's interesting! When I started out I maybe felt the same but most of that was just not understanding it, and now to me it feels like one of the more explicit frameworks I've used, which I actually enjoy. I could recommend reading http://www.petecorey.com/blog/2019/05/20/minimum-viable-phoe... which was posted on HN as well some years ago.
