Peter Lyons writes Pete's Points, a personal blog at peterlyons.com about programming and career. Since 2011, 10 different Hacker News readers have linked it 27 times, most often “Squeezebox Keyboard”. It is still writing: the last post was on 2026-02-07, and you can follow it by feed.
Too few sampled comments (3) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
HN readers link this blog for its posts on hypnosis, a 2013 post on the AirPair coverage, and its discussion of gadgets such as the reMarkable 2 and a Dactyl-Manuform keyboard. The comments cite its topics rather than judging its writing.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 3 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?
As it happens, I purchased the only two pieces of technology that I actually like in the past two years. The first is the ReMarkable 2[1]. While imperfect (not open-source, support is atrocious), its utility is so high that it more than makes up for it - it actually behaves like electronic paper , and is better than real paper for my use-cases. The second is a Dactyl-Manuform that a friend built and sold to me. It's…

HN discussionCheers, and thanks for asking. :) > are there any papers on it? None that I know of, but I have never looked. Hypnosis in general has a hard time being accepted by conventional science (going back to Mesmer and Ben Franklin.) > the use of hypnosis to create unconscious “hooks” into conscious thought. Yes, this was literally one of the first things I learned when I started studying and using hypnosis: a binary Boolea…

HN discussionI don't think you will find multiple OSX user accounts viable/enjoyable. OSX puts a lot of important preferences (keyboard/mouse settings for example) within the user account, so you will end up having a nightmare keeping things in sync and sane. You won't be able to rely on a lot of important tools like dropbox or 1password easily. Just stick with 1 user. Use docker or virtualbox/vagrant for stuff you don't want to…

HN discussionI think so too, this is truly a genius idea for both freelancing as well as product people. That I found this site after checking out a developers particularly good answer->profile->blog ( http://peterlyons.com/problog/2013/03/airpair-on-techcrunch ) over at StackOverflow probably speaks for itself. Being my own honcho/dev I totally can see myself using this for code reviews and possibly even more!
