Why HN links it
HN commenters link pheelicks for a post on images in Go and a WebGL tombstone article with its GitHub repo, one commenter citing the Go post as inspiration for their own plots.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

HN discussionYes, I know - my blog is ruining my morning. Quick fix is to remove the trailing slash, i.e. go to http://www.pheelicks.com/2014/03/rendering-large-terrains instead. If anyone using WordPress + W3TC has hit this I'd be grateful for pointers to a fix

HN discussionInspired by that post[1] on Go a few days ago, I made a few animated parametric plots: http://i.imgur.com/gUm1T5S.gif http://i.imgur.com/xR5uqle.gif http://i.imgur.com/SVvuRII.gif [1]: http://www.pheelicks.com/2013/10/intro-to-images-in-go-part-...

HN discussionGood questions. 1. Precisely because it felt like a good middle ground between the two. MIT/Apache feels like completely giving away something which doesn't seem fair, while GPL would put some people off. MPLv2 is GPL compatible so that won't stop anyone. 2. Yes, well, will see how it turns out. One strong counterexample in this space would be Mapbox, their client code is open-source and this doesn't seem to do them…

HN discussionVery nice - thanks for sharing! Diving into WebGL is on my todo list for a long time. Games using it (e.g. Quake) really do look impressive for something that doesn't require any additional plugins to run.
