HN discussionHow about Pirsch [0]? It starts at $4/month and you can set up as many sites as you want for up to 10k page views/month. That should be sufficient for most smaller sites. [0] https://pirsch.io/

HN discussionThat's the main reason we promote the backend integration for Pirsch [0] so much. In the long run, JS will probably not be sufficient, depending on your target audience. [0] https://pirsch.io/

HN discussionI'm the co-founder of https://pirsch.io/ . We plan to add features for marketeers, but it's hard to be privacy-friendly/GDPR compliant and support that at the same time. We can talk about it if you like, just drop me an email: marvin.blum@emvi.com

HN discussionI'd like to add https://pirsch.io/ as an alternative. The main differentiation from Plausible and Fathom is, that it can be used from your backend, so that adblockers can't block the script and you still get GDPR compliant statistics for your websites.

HN discussionFunny, because I've started a privacy-friendly analytics tool [0]. It really happened by "accident", as I initially tried to solve my own problem (analytics for my website without an ugly cookie-banner) and only later discovered there were many existing solutions. Now that I went all-in on it, I think there is much more to it than what you can see at a first glance. There are a lot of dividing factors, like support,…

HN discussionI'm working on privacy-friendly analytics [0] and also try to get into some consultancy work. Preferably in Golang. I have one project in the pipeline where I'm building a prototype for a very niche checkout like system, but for contracted work instead of products. In the long run I would like to work on my projects exclusively. [0] https://pirsch.io

HN discussionI've been running a production-grade Nomad cluster on Hetzner for the past 1 1/2 years and it's fantastic. It was amazingly easy to set up compared to Kubernetes (which I also did), the UI is awesome, updates haven't broken anything yet (as long as you follow the changelog) and it's stable. I really like the separation of concerns the HashiStack offers. You can start out just using Consul for your service meshing, a…

HN discussionI also started a privacy-friendly analytics SaaS without looking at the market. Sometimes it's better to just get started. Otherwise you probably won't start doing anything, as there are existing products most of the time. In my case, I was looking for a Go (golang) solution that I could embed in my website, as a library so to speak, and just turned it into a product later as I was looking for a new project to work…

HN discussionI think this is mostly related to feature-creep and the feeling that developers should do something , even though the product might be "done" (considering that software never is quite finished, reading done as "problem solved"). I'm working on a web analytics tool that helps "normal" folks to understand what's going on [0], and users are already starting to demand more than the tool was supposed to be. It's really t…
