1. As a fellow endurance athlete who has experimented with fasting I would say don't waste your time. While I do think the response to fasting is somewhat personal, for me the impact upon long-term fitness, work/life stress (cortisol) [1] and ongoing metabolism [2] is just too severe to be ignored. I would recommend reading this article about the connection between vitamins D, A, and K, and how they inter-play with one another: https://www.precisionnutrition.com/stop-vitamin-d It was pretty eye-opening (and alarming) when I read it. In short: While Vitamin D is great for everyone, your body will begin lacking in vitamins A and K because of the effects of D (too much of a good thing, essentially). It's all abou…

  23. I've found http://www.precisionnutrition.com/ to be one of the better resources online. I signed up for the certification and it's way more advance than what you see everyone else talking about. It explains the basics of how the body actually digests foods then goes into the day to day stuff.

I read that somewhere in this ebook on IF, don't recall on which page (great resource btw, one of the few user-friendly books I've seen yet): http://www.precisionnutrition.com/intermittent-fasting I can't say anything about the people you mentioned. I myself had absolutely no progress when IFing for some days, only dizziness and irritability.

http://www.precisionnutrition.com These guys are fantastic if you want to change your lifestyle. In the past, I've done something like this program and I lost about 70 pounds (meanwhile becoming relatively buff and, if I might say so myself, rather sexy). I like this program because it's a laid back version of most ketogenic diets mixed with a whole food mentality (read: it's sustainable for life).

OP: All the women were asked not to change their dietary habits... They were asked, but did the women comply? Not likely, due to the compensation problem. Bottom line: Regulating exercise without regulating diet is not likely to produce results. I don't think this is news. It has been shown that one's metab…

Early Arctic explorers, who attempted to survive on rabbit meat exclusively, described the condition as “rabbit st…
