Too few sampled comments (2) to say how often HN recommends it.?

Why HN links it

Linked in HN threads on a minimal bare-metal C runtime and on Mac Finder list views. Commenters point to the author's post about the 'fleet' hypervisor-based project and a Finder screenshot; the writing is not judged.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?

  1. It's the basis for another project of his called 'fleet': https://github.com/marssaxman/fleet The idea for fleet (and thus for startc) is to work inside a hypervisor (kvm) instead of real hardware so you get a few devices implemented through virtio and run on top of that. His blog post on fleet is at http://www.redecho.org/2015/10/01/system-programming-is-fun-...

  3. I never use the column view. My Finder windows contain a hierarchical view of the contents of a directory; in Mac parlance this is a "list view," but I don't see any significant way it differs from what you are calling a "tree view". http://www.redecho.org/2012/06/screenshot.png
