Too few sampled comments (2) to say how often HN recommends it.?
Why HN links it
Linked for a 2014 post, 'end-game', about the author's health and a donation appeal from a PHP community figure. Comments ask about a headgear mentioned there and mention the PayPal donation button.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.
Wherein I occasionally rant on various topics including PHP, Music, and my fight with brain cancer.

HN discussionIt took me a while to actually see there was a paypal donation button on the right. Perhaps ad-blindness, perhaps just taken in with reading recent updates - in January, Richard was given 3-6 months to live ( http://richardlynch.blogspot.com/2014/01/end-game.html ). Donation sent - I hope every little bit helps.
