Why HN links it
HN readers link this blog for a 2015 how-to on using a regular Gmail account with a custom domain through Mailgun's free tier. The only comment is a neutral reference to that post.
Summarised by Claude from a sample of 1 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.
A blog on software, technology, and life.
What Hacker News says?
Buy with a credit card through one of the companies that resells grandfathered Google Apps accounts and you should be okay. Edit: I just remembered reading an article [1] about hooking up a regular gmail account to the free tier of mailgun, so you send and receive through your custom domain but otherwise have a plain old gmail account.
