  11. It’s a custom written OS for the RISC V processor written in Rust. http://osblog.stephenmarz.com/index.html Edit: original post I could’ve sworn was worded to imply it was what was what GP linked, but either I misread or it was edited, so changed my reply accordingly.

  13. A colleague of mine has been testing out all of the RISC-V chips he can get his hands on, including a few SiFive boards. He really likes them. Check out his free book if you are interested in understanding SiFive's boards or RISC-V in general: Making a RISC-V Operating System using Rust ( https://osblog.stephenmarz.com/ )

  21. I’ve had a lot of fun learning RISC-V assembly off and on over the last year. I went through a colleague of mine’s tutorial series on implementing an operating system targeting RISC-V using Rust. Now I’m working on my own small assembler for RISC-V. It’s been so much more fun to learn than x86! Edit: link to the tutorial ( http://osblog.stephenmarz.com/ )

  25. Do you mean like a hardware board for educational purposes? I use the Sipeed Maixduino (or Maix Bit) for my classes. The problem with these boards is there is a lot of esoteric, non-documented items. For a well documented hardware board, I would look at the Sifive Hifive1 (Rev B). Since RISC-V is still relatively new, I'm sure more and more boards will start making it to market rather soon. The RISC-V organization h…
