What Hacker News says?

  1. > To be fair, there was no public record of it until 2012 or so I'm not sure if reddit publicly acknowledged it before then, but it was certainly known that you were doing it. (It was also pretty damned obvious that you guys were fucking with vote counts -- e.g. "66% like it" on every post -- among other questionable anti-spam tactics...) The earliest record I can find of the idea being discussed on reddit -- there…

You may enjoy Vimwiki, which will offer you some of the benefits you already have with markdown, but also offer structure in the form of hypertext links, when needed. https://github.com/vimwiki/vimwiki Also, consider checking out this blog post that describes a somewhat similar journey to incorporating vim (and vimwiki) in one's workflows: http://www.stochasticgeometry.ie/2012/11/23/vimwiki/

  7. If you are comfortable with/living in vim anyway, you could give the vimwiki [0] plugin a try. You can use markdown as the markup language, which makes it easy to convert to whatever format you want to have using pandoc (or similar tools). Having the stuff in plain text lying around in a folder makes it very easy to search for using grep / ack . This guy [1] describes how he's using vimwiki as a lab notebook (HN dis…

  9. Anything is better than anything else, at least for very specific values of "better". There is no objective measure of the quality of a smartphone. I guess "I prefer the N900 to the iPhone" doesn't get nearly as many clicks. Also, the link is to an article about a linked article - http://www.stochasticgeometry.ie/2010/05/10/why-the-nokia-n9...
