What Hacker News says?
You register your custom serializer at application startup... http://www.strathweb.com/2014/11/formatters-asp-net-mvc-6/ Your controller action looks like this: public List<Employee> Get() { ..... return employeeList; } Based on the serializers you have registered and the request Accept header, WebApi will serialize the list into JSON, XML, BSon (all built in) or a custom serializer that you add like Protocal Buffer…

HN discussionLast time I tried to seriously switch from Framework to Core, I was dismayed to find that Assemblies could not be unloaded from memory in Core after they were loaded. That was something that depended on the AppDomain functionality, which existed in Framework only. Thankfully, they finally got around to adding support in .NET 3.0 ( https://www.strathweb.com/2019/01/collectible-assemblies-in-... ).

HN discussion> Omnisharp craps the bed way too often. FWIW I've had a much better experience with OmniSharp since they shipped a version running on .NET 6 (opt-in with the "omnisharp.useModernNet" setting). YMMV but I need to restart it much less now. https://www.strathweb.com/2022/01/hello-omnisharp-on-net-6-0...

HN discussionI get what you mean about wanting a visual app to experience yourself and be able to point others too. I recently followed this MLX tutorial for making a small model act well for home speaker automation/tool-use that I think could potentially be used to make a good all-in-one demo: https://www.strathweb.com/2025/01/fine-tuning-phi-models-wit... (it was fast and easy to do on a MacBook pro)

HN discussionEarlier this year, I read a couple Swift scripting blogs and decided to create a script to generate my Go data structure for my little Swift "search engine": http://www.h4labs.com/dev/ios/swift.html Here's the script that generates the Go data structure: https://github.com/melling/SwiftResources/blob/master/bin/ge... Simply having a few scripts makes it easier to update my site. Btw, here are the other blogs: https:…
