Described as a pretty good approach to AI-assisted software engineering, preferred over the term 'vibe coding'.1

  1. Happy to help, did you consider https://getstream.io/chat/ ? You can integrate it into your app at far lower costs. Actually for what you're doing we're happy to sponsor the hosting at no costs.

  3. Consider building your own (many large communities do). https://getstream.io/chat/ It's super simple to build with Stream and far lower costs than Slack. (i'm the CEO, founder so don't take my word for it). But we have quite a few customers building either communities into their app or large companies running integrated chat workflows. (think airline operations, construction collaboration etc.)

Yes, you're most likely doing it wrong. I would like to add that "vibe coding" is a dreadful term thought up by someone who is arguably not very good at software engineering, as talented as he may be in other respects. The term has become a misleading and frankly pejorative term. A better, more neutral one is AI assisted software engineering. This is an article that describes a pretty good approach for that: https:/…

  25. Please don't write programs in go. Sure it looks awesome on the surface but it's a nightmare when you get a null pointer panic in a 3rd party library. Instead use Rust. See here for more info: https://getstream.io/blog/fixing-the-billion-dollar-mistake-...

  27. N.B. this isn't fully open source because it relies on the Stream API: https://getstream.io/ They have a free quota of 3 million feed updates (not sure if total, I'm guessing per month?). Important to keep in mind because the app may be open source, but they can pull the plug on it by shutting down the web service. And so you can't self host it independently. It might be nice, not saying otherwise, but for example s…

  29. Stream is an API for building activity feeds. You use it when you want to follow things in your application. Another use case is notification feeds. RSS readers are a tiny fraction of our customer base, but it's something we care about. API tour is here: https://getstream.io/get_started/ Currently Stream powers the feeds for over 300 million end users, Stackshare did a nice post about our tech: https://stackshare.io…
