Too few sampled comments (5) to say how often HN recommends it.?

Why HN links it

HN commenters link Superluminal, a Windows profiler with flame charts and an ETW trace viewer, as a tool for profiling Rust and other code. The comments praise the product itself, not any writing.

What Hacker News says?

  1. Per the article's "Using the right profiling tools", I have gone through a similar profiling journey in Rust and found this tool very useful: https://superluminal.eu/rust/ Works on Windows, has a great GUI, shows pretty flame charts, really pleasant to use. Costs money but worth it.

  3. There's a kazillion tools out there. Here's a few off the top of my head to get started. RAD Game Tools Telemetry - http://www.radgametools.com/telemetry.htm Superluminal - https://superluminal.eu/features/ Remotery - https://github.com/Celtoys/Remotery Visual Studio's built-in profiler is an ok sampling profiler. It doesn't give you a nice multi-thread view which is a huge advantage to a span based profiler. MTuner…

  7. Having written similar tools like this in the past I pretty much exclusively use Tracy nowadays and let all my old stuff rot. The UI is snappy/fluid even with a tremendous amount of events, instrumentation is rich (zones/plots/memory tracking with timing, GPU events, logging, etc) and sampling is robust across all major platforms (Windows/Android/Linux/Mac) and the disassembly/analysis is as solid as most vendor too…
