What Hacker News says?

  1. In my understanding, they won't: https://botondballo.wordpress.com/2015/06/05/trip-report-c-s... > Modules making it into C++17 is less likely. However, they do say > That said, from a user’s perspective, I don’t think this is any reason to > despair: the feature is still likely to become available to users in the > 2017 timeframe, even if it’s in the form of a TS.

  3. Back 2015, when the work on C++14 was still going on, it was already known that modules probably won't make into C++17. Very different situation now. https://botondballo.wordpress.com/2015/06/05/trip-report-c-s...

  5. There are two competing proposals before the committee currently. Microsoft is implementing one of them, clang is driving the other. By pursuing implementations of different proposals the committee hopes to converge on a best compromise design incorporating lessons learned from trying them out in practice.
