What Hacker News says?

  1. It may have in the early days (just like many countries' oil programmes), however now the fund is helping to provide subsidies which makes gasoline cars more expensive than electric cars (amongst other policies), and hence Norway is now one of leaders of EV adoption (per person): https://www.greencarfuture.com/electric/how-norway-so-many-e...

  2. https://www.greencarfuture.com/electric/2018/12/12/are-evs-h... The actual production of an EV _can_ result in more emissions (along the whole supply chain) than petrol cars, yes. The article starts with "I know that we often get accused of having a strong anti-Tesla bias on our site".
