What Hacker News says?

  1. And quite a lot of Western ones like Vipps. And see this long list: https://truelayer.com/reports/alternative-payments/european-... > require ID, zero privacy, usually government sanctioned Unfortunately systems that don't have those requirements are going to be money laundering channels. I wish it wasn't such a big concern but it's unavoidable.

  7. Yes, take a look at the OBIE [0]. You are required to be registered/regulated as an appropriate 'Third Party Processor' (TPP) class, in this case an AISP. Then you can use an API aggregator service such as SaltEdge, TrueLayer, Teller [1], etc. (I'm not associated with any of these). Or you can try to roll your own. 9. Giving a plug to https://truelayer.com/ . They have a great team and they're making a big push to bring PSD2 compliant banking integrations to Europe. I haven't heard of many other offerings within Europe.

  13. Looks interesting but there doesn’t seem to be al list of supported banks? Pretty happy with Truelayer ( https://truelayer.com ) but more competition is always better.

  15. Something that is often overlooked about PSD2 is the introduction of a real liability model and explicit customer consent. What happens today is that account aggregators and payment initiation providers (this is true in US and EU) are operating in a gray area where transparency, consumer protection, and liability are either completely neglected or totally insufficient. PSD2 will create a clear regulatory framework,…

  16. The way I see the banking api industry evolving is as follows: Currently banks have been implementing API’s because it has been mandated by regulatory bodies. From their perspectives, the APIs are a money sink, and even worse, could make their customers less reliant on their infrastructure - increasing their chances of losing customers. I see it differently, and predict that the landscape will change dramatically. O…

  17. I am really excited about this push technology (example: https://truelayer.com/paydirect ) It seems to me that merchants are paying a ton of money in card fees and waiting 2-3 days for the transaction to settle) whereas actually the transaction could be done for pennies and settle instantly via the UK's very good Faster Payments infrastructure. If this takes off with consumers, Visa and MasterCard are going to see b…
