  7. Yes Kubernetes YAMLs are a PITA. But you can just wrap them in a scripting language like Ruby that makes it easy to create a DSL. [0]: https://www.brightbox.com/blog/2020/02/12/rubynetes-kubernet... Use a language rather than a tool if you need the flexibility.

  11. Thank you for your work and persistence Colin! I love using FreeBSD for my servers because of the consistency and great minds behind it. I love it so much that I have written a few posts how to setup a FreeBSD server [1]. Currently there are some other options for hosting your "virtual" FreeBSD server. Some good ones are RootBSD [2] (US), Brightbox [3] (UK) and TransIP [4] (NL). Quality wise that are equally good. I…

  15. We designed Brightbox Cloud with the scarcity of public IPv4 addresses in mind since day one. Running out of addresses shouldn't be a surprise to anyone! http://brightbox.com/blog/2012/01/11/ipv6-servers/ We're not as cheap as gandi though, heh :)

  19. Unlike Elastic IPs, Brightbox Cloud IPs can be mapped directly to load balancers, so you can avoid the SPoF that way (load balancers are highly-available, across zones): http://brightbox.com/#load_balancers But we also have some other upcoming features for Cloud IPs that address this in another way :)

  25. hey nice work. I did the same thing but for Brightbox: https://github.com/brightbox/deploy-jitsi realised I've not licensed it properly though! will sort that out tomorrow. blogged about it here: https://www.brightbox.com/blog/2020/03/30/how-to-install-jit... took me a while to sort out the fqdn config change, did you get that working?

  29. Their design appears to be quite deliberately taken from UK IaaS company Brightbox: http://brightbox.com/ We've asked about it on twitter but no answers from them just yet. I presume an outsourced design someone pinched without them knowing (or quite the coincidence). (fulldisc: I'm a brightboxer).
