Why HN links it

HN commenters link Unleash's site as an open-source feature flag and feature management tool, often as an alternative to rolling their own or to LaunchDarkly. The comments are about the product, not the writing.

What Hacker News says?

  1. Unleash is an amazing open source feature management tool: https://www.getunleash.io/ It would probably take some effort to hook it up to whatever billing platform you use, but it would make it easy to turn certain features on/off based on billing. Instead of checking if a customer has a specific plan, you instead have Unleash handle the features that are on/off and then check for those flags in the code.

  3. I've been looking into using Unleash ( https://www.getunleash.io/ ) for this sort of thing. Seems like that would be a better option than rolling-your-own, particularly if you have the infrastructure for it. I haven't actually gotten too deep into it to know what limitations might come with using it. Does anyone have any experience with it?

  9. There are a few case studies listed in most of the feature flag solutions, of course, each organization is completely different and the maturity of each organization varies. But feature flags are a 2-way-door decision, meaning that you can adopt them at smaller scale, try it out and see if it works for you before making a decision. Here's a list of case studies from some of the solutions referred in the comments, so…
