Too few sampled comments (4) to say how often HN recommends it.?

Why HN links it

Linked as the homepage of Verold, a platform for building interactive 3D experiences, and as a production example of the Kera tool. The comments mention the product and company, not the writing.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 4 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

What Hacker News says?

  1. glTF seems nice. We are currently adding export support for glTF it to our tool - http://clara.io . glTF is very similar to the run-time format used by both http://Verold.com and http://Sketchfab.com but it is standardized. glTF is basd on Collada pretty closely I understand.

  3. Hey, The short answer is: yes. Feel free to check out http://verold.com , http://ptable.com , and http://happytables.com to see Kera in production. We also have some really cool case studies in the works with more "high profile" startups in Toronto. That being said, we're still a very early-stage company.

  7. Don't forget about Verold ;( http://www.verold.com Granted, Verold does not handle 3D _creation_ on the web. Instead we are building a platform for creating interactive experiences using 3D content. Eventually it will lead to a full fledged game development platform. Check it out!

  9. This is trippy and awesome :)) Here's hoping we see a lot more interactive experiences soon! If anyone is inspired to try to build something of their own using Three.js, we're working on tools that will help. More here: http://verold.com/blog/2012/11/6/threejs-needs-a-cms

  11. What you see in the public gallery are the personal models that artists have put on display for their portfolio. In the background is a robust set of tools that let you review and collaborate in realtime. Every project is a multi-user space, meaning that if more than one person comes in, they can see each other, snap to another user's camera, and see material and scene changes as they are made. We've got several sch…

  12. We've focused on professional artists, and support all the main formats that they use. The difference in load time is because a lot of what's in our public gallery is from ZBrush, 3D-Coat, or Mudbox - high res sculpts that were not meant for realtime. It's more testiment to our processing engine that we can make these run as well as we do. Not exactly apples to oranges comparing these sculpts to Sketchup models on S…
