Too few sampled comments (2) to say how often HN recommends it.?

Why HN links it

Commenters link posts on fixing high kernel_task CPU usage on MacBook Pro and on Docker bypassing UFW firewall rules. They cite them as sources and do not judge the writing.

Summarised by Claude from a sample of 2 HN comments that link here. Each comment is marked recommending, critical or neutral (citing without judging); how this works.

Insights on DevSecOps, cloud architecture, and building secure, scalable systems. Sharing practical experience from running tech companies and implementing software supply chain security at scale.

What Hacker News says?

  1. Understood, what I was refering to is this [0] which seems to disable the kernel_task profiler, not the kernel itself. Again, I haven't done this, too scared ;D [0] https://blog.viktorpetersson.com/2016/01/03/how-to-fix-kerne...

  3. Shameless self-plug, but I wrote about my decade long experience of remote work here[0], and included some further reading material that I've personally found useful. There are some books dedicated to this. I am actually toying with the idea of writing a book on this and would love to get your thoughts. Ping me at @vpetersson if you wanna chat. 5. I'd recommend reading The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. For me, creating habits and using a paper todo list have made a big impact on me. That said, i think everyone occasionally feels that they are slacking performing less than they could do. I also wrote a bit about what works for me in my blog post A Decade of Remote Work [1]. 7. Another approach to solving this problem is to use Tailscale and their new SSL feature [1]. This of course is dependent on that you use Tailscale, but it is pretty handy and does give you a Let's Encrypt cert. [1] https://blog.viktorpetersson.com/2022/12/23/securing-service...

  9. > and without a firewall, people on the train will be attacking your containerized apps. I was surprised when I learned this but Docker by default bypasses UFW and potentially other firewalls relying on iptables. https://blog.viktorpetersson.com/2014/11/03/the-dangers-of-u...
