What Hacker News says?

  1. > Yes of course, but that probably represents less than 10% of the customers. Lol how did you come up with 10%? Did you just make it up? > VPNs don't stop trackers. Windscribe (and other VPN's) can block trackers. https://blog.windscribe.com/how-r-o-b-e-r-t-works-76d6274460...

  3. I have my own self hosted VPN, but I am a fan of Windscribe too, they offer a free VPN which I'd personally trust. I do pay for it, but wouldn't have any concerns recommending it. They actually wrote an article explaining how/why it's free: https://blog.windscribe.com/free-vpn-myths-debunked-70a0aa46... Obviously do your own research.

  9. https://blog.windscribe.com/top-r-russia-mod-admits-to-ownin... Yup. It's crazy how many of these are out in the wild. I mostly notice Chinese ones from my time there or ones highlighted by friends. But the Russian disinfo coming out in the lead up was insane. I'm all for freedom of press but state sanctioned media is such a fucking blight.

  19. Windscribe co-founder here. Consumer VPN industry is a shit show, especially in the last 3-5 years. The parasitic "VPN review" industry is making all the money, as the "big VPNs" are paying ridiculously high CPA rates (think gambling CPA rates of $50-$100). Most "review" sites rank VPNs based on a single metric - who pays the most. This is why vpnmentor (a review site) was acquired for more money than PrivateInterne…
