HN discussionThanks! I really appreciate it. My source image is 1000x1500, which redbubble.com says is not large enough for a poster. I admit, even at 150dpi, it wouldn't be much of a poster. As I upgrade my SEM image acquisition hardware, I'll be able to make higher res images. If you'd like the raw PNG, check out my blog: http://benkrasnow.blogspot.com/

HN discussionBen Krasnow (Applied Science on YouTube) did some research into driving e-Ink displays, and he made some similar observations: > All of the lookup table information has been removed from this datasheet, because the industry thrives on secrecy or something Highly recommended, as usual for him it's a great video/write-up: * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsbiO8EAsGw * http://benkrasnow.blogspot.com/2017/10/fast-parti…

HN discussionFun fact, you can make a basic scope at home. It definitely is not easy but probably not as expensive as you might think (actually not much at all!). Ben Krasnow (Applied Science) has a few videos and blog posts on the topic[0,1,2]. The Tungsten Filaments can be expensive, but I sent an email to the company and they sent me some samples to play with. It's been years so I forgot who I contacted. I tried the Nalgene b…

HN discussionBen Krasnow is a peripheral hardware designer (and all-around hacker) that recently went to Valve to work on "Top Secret" projects. Previously he developed specialized input devices for use around MRI machines so I assume his "Top Secret" projects at Valve involve peripherals.
