What Hacker News says?

  1. We're are developing an open source offering in this space: https://budibase.com . Planning to have an MVP in the summer - at which stage we will also make the source public. We are more focussed around a tool for building SaaS products, fast. However, we are planning to build a Notion-like app using BudiBase, for management of the project & business. 21. If you're interested in an open source alternative to Retool, checkout Budibase. On top of a drag and drop visual builder, Budibase comes with an automation platform (like zapier) , internal db, and a lot more flexibility when it comes to design. We launched our cloud product 7/8 months ago and we just hit the 40,000 companies using Budibase. Budibase is open source and you can run it on Docker, K8s, Digital Ocean,…

  25. I am the cofounder of Budibase, and I agree with the many comments here around Microsoft throwing tools at the low-code space and seeing what sticks. The most popular source of users we get are PowerApps users who are fed up with the constant change and moving states. If you are looking for an open source alternative to Powerapps - check out Budibase [1][2] [1] https://github.com/Budibase/budibase [2] https://budiba…

  27. you should check out Budibase, its got all the good parts of no code (nothing you said indicates you really want to be futzing around with css to get basic stuff up) but lets you code the important parts yourself and is open source so you can mod things if you need to https://budibase.com

  28. From the other comments, I haven't tried tooljet ( https://tooljet.io ) or budibase ( https://budibase.com ) but I did have a look at those apps. This, for me, was easiest to try out. And quite impressive, honestly. The key point was that in each table, the 'title' column (created by default) has a special meaning as they show up in the join columns cleanly. Amazing and congratulations.
