What Hacker News says?
I like https://www.appsmith.com/ which provides front end as a service for publishing internal tools. The good thing about appsmith is it comes with self-hosted version. For data-conscious companies, it's the perfect solution. Developers can collaboratively build internal tools and publish them. The vast library of UI components on appsmith gives you enough flexibility to build the apps the way you want them with si…

HN discussion> I'd love to have a visual builder that creates code you can host yourself — something like retool.com but with open source and self-hosting I believe this is the promise of AppSmith: https://www.appsmith.com/ I haven't tried it myself, curious for others' experiences

HN discussionI hope to play with Appsmith soon. It looks really cool. It doesn't seem to have an sqlite connector but I wonder how hard that would be to build. Note that I know nothing about Appsmith and almost nothing about sqlite, but I'm intrigued by the possibilities. https://www.appsmith.com/

HN discussionI've tested Appsmith: https://www.appsmith.com/ and it's great! It's open source and self hostable on k8s. It's really easy to use, there is included tutorials. I mainly use it to build frontends to make APIs calls, but it supports DB backends like MySQL or PostgreSQL. Devs are available and willing to answer questions.

HN discussionFounder of Appsmith ( https://appsmith.com ) here. This is very unfortunate news. I have a lot of respect for the founders & the product. In fact I even used Airplane for a few side projects in the past. It's sad to see the product die. IMO, most folks alluding to them running out money is incorrect. I think they simply ran out of energy or the will to go on. This is very common among early stage companies. But, as…
