  3. Clojure as well, e.g.: http://blog.cognitect.com/blog/2015/6/30/walmart-runs-clojur... They're pretty language agnostic from what I've heard, not always in a good way.

  5. I thought that was strange survey at first, as there were very few questions related to programming and coding with Rust but plenty of questions around engaging with the community (inclusiveness/comfort level, conference attendance, etc). But then I realized it was a "Rust Community Survey". Is there another survey more suited to use Rust as a language ala "State of Clojure"? I don't use Clojure anymore but I still…

So this is a common issue on the clojure sub-reddit the two good responses i've seen to this is the library expound ( https://github.com/bhb/expound ) so you get more 'human' read-able errors and my personal favourite is Stuart Hallows blog post REPL DEBUGGING: NO STACKTRACE REQUIRED ( http://blog.cognitect.com/blog/2017/6/5/repl-debugging-no-st... )

  9. If you can, I'd suggest use spec to improve your understanding and verify behavior. I certainly do know that Clojure can get very dense if you're not careful. http://blog.cognitect.com/blog/2017/6/19/improving-on-types-...

  11. Tom, have you heard of EDN and Transit? Like JSON, but: 1. Extensible, custom types 2. Streamy, efficient, compressed and fast, leverages platform's existing native/optimized JSON parsers 3. Wide platform reach 4. Made by Rich Hickey http://blog.cognitect.com/blog/2014/7/22/transit

  15. Where does Clojure fit in the technology stack of Walmart? Cognitect has a few references that seem a bit old [1], but I see WalmartLabs release clj libraries from time to time [2], and I heard a podcast once where someone talked about working with Clojure remotely too [3]. 1: https://www.cognitect.com/walmart-case-study.html 2: https://github.com/walmartlabs/lacinia 3: http://blog.cognitect.com/cognicast/087

  23. That's not a very plain-language description of transducers. Transducers are functions which can be applied to any sort of collection or sequence. You can use then to do something like filter a collection or an input stream with the same code. They are basically just a way to make things like 'map' and 'filter' work on datatypes other than sequences, such as streams or channels. http://blog.cognitect.com/blog/2014/8…
