HN discussionVery excited to see this come out of Anthropic! This[1] is what we believe over at East River Source Control as well, and seeing one of the big labs talk about it really validates our thesis. We are offering a bridge to git via a compatibility layer: https://ersc.io/blog/what-comes-after-git This gives you the ability to ease your transition, as you don't need to swap services and move to something non-git at once.…

HN discussionIt's Jujutsu based, but I imagine East River Source Control https://ersc.io/ may be building a GitHub competitor.

HN discussionRight now there's no active public backends, there are a few prolific JJ contributors who are working on their own forge though ( https://ersc.io ). At Google, JJ is natively supported for interfacing with the monorepo, this is where the proof of being backend agnostic comes from. Hopefully as the network effects catches on we'll see more and more of a desire for 3P forges.

HN discussionI'm confused why there's no attribution or reference to Tobi's (which in turn referenced the cursor git post) Attribution is not just a problem for LLMs in mathematics! Tobi is where I first heard the concept: https://github.com/tobi/walgit And he credits this Cursor post for giving him the ideas and says it's worth reading: https://cursor.com/blog/git-at-any-scale Note: in related work, the East River Source Contro…

HN discussion> There is no ulterior motive here. I just want to point out that it is known that one of the biggest jj proponents on HN does have financial incentive to do so. Steve Klabnik (the person that submitted this post) comments and posts about jj here often and works for https://ersc.io (startup mentioned in the post). So don't be so sure that all of the PR here comes from a pure selfless act.

HN discussionThe platform this is an ad for looks to be very bare-bones, but I’m still very glad to see a new entry in the code forge space focusing on stacked PRs since Graphite went all-in on clanker review. Extremely keen to see what will come out of ERSC [0] [0] https://ersc.io/

on “Reinventing the Pull Request”Nope, I have had zero time for personal projects lately, Rue is on the backburner until I do. I've been busy at https://ersc.io/ (and spending time with my family, and playing Marathon...)
