What Hacker News says?
FWIW - I remember reading about the founder of Baremetrics being able to buy Baremetrics.com via this service. Impressive because Baremetrics (which used to be on baremetrics.io) had received a $500K funding by the time he wanted to buy the .com for his company name. GoDaddy seems to have brokered the deal for $616. Source - https://baremetrics.com/blog/scored-baremetrics-dot-com

HN discussionI have sold a business as well, and I have to admit I am very surprised by this response, too. Not only does Josh divulge information that most founders are legally forbidden from ever revealing, he also was always extremely open about the journey of the business, even facilitating the [Open Startups]( https://baremetrics.com/open-startups ) page, where Baremetrics itself is listed. What surprises me most is the lac…

HN discussion Salaries? https://baremetrics.com/blog/why-we-spent-250000 > We aren’t spending Silicon Valley-amounts on salaries, but we’re certainly not on the low end. From the perspective wanting my team to love where they work and not have to worry about money, I’m very happy with the salaries everyone gets.

HN discussionFair enough! 2017 was a tough year for us (especially May to December). You're correct that we launched very few improvements in that time. On the backend we were doing a complete rewrite, which ultimately set the stage for us to roll out really powerful new features like Segmentation ( https://baremetrics.com/features/segmentation ) which launched a couple of months ago. Since January we've been on a roll, releasin…

HN discussion> they can’t turn a profit, and for any hope to turn profit they need this continual growth at a loss, and at some point the investors dump the bag on the public getting a return in a bubble they created and let the public fund the losses. Could you provide some data to show that companies which, at IPO, have any cumulative loss or a very large cumulative loss (as a percentage of valuation or offering size), perform…

HN discussionThat's great then! BannerBear actually fits into OP's desire to be making $1-1.5k in 13 months! Kidding aside - yes, I get it. SAAS products take a while and are hard. According to BareMetrics, after a year most companies are making $3333 in MRR [0]. But if you're living in a 3rd world country that's usually plenty of cash if you've got decent margins. The spirit of including BannerBear was more like "think about th…
