  15. The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive, especially with JavaScript frameworks you can run on the server to render the initial page, which then gets wired up to the client-side application. i.e. "Isomorphic JavaScript" [1][2] [1] http://nerds.airbnb.com/isomorphic-javascript-future-web-app... 17. Kubernetes is complex — no matter where you run it. Docker itself is also complex; any orchestration/scheduling system layered on top of it will by definition add a dynamism that involves complicated things happening whenever something needs to be shuffled around. Kubernetes makes some good design decisions. For example, you can kill the master and the cluster will continue to work just fine, except no scheduling wi…

  23. I agree with your point that it might be worth paring back features to improve code quality. But there is no one true code to test ratio. If you're trying to become a better programmer be wary of dogma. As posted here the other day, airbnb didn't have much testing until a year ago: http://nerds.airbnb.com/testing-at-airbnb/ I'm not saying either way is right or wrong, which is kind of my point.

  29. It means that it can be used on client and server. Its a term coined by (I believe) the nodejitsu people in this article [0]. Airbnb also used the term to describe their rendr library [1] which aims to allow exactly that: rendering on both client and server [0] http://blog.nodejitsu.com/scaling-isomorphic-javascript-code...
