HN discussionAlso interesting to see the pitch on "ClojureScript is a Product Design Tool"[0], written by Precursor's designer. A lot of this stuff can be made more accessible for designers and FE developers who don't want to have to deep dive into all the new-fangled frameworks. HN discussionI like the landing page for Precursor ( https://precursorapp.com/home ) because it shows off the app's collaborative features in the background (only on desktop) and goes straight from landing page to app without even a page refresh. It also has a few fancy animated svg illustrations and a well-done effect when you hover over the main cta.

HN discussionI ran https://precursorapp.com on Vultr in the early days. I had a setup with a few dedicated servers for the DB and load balancer, and then I would spin up and shut down application servers whenever I deployed new backend code. Infrastructure looked like: https://precursor.precursorapp.com/document/Backend-Infrastr... I used to recommend it to everybody, but don't any longer. I had two negative experiences that mad…

HN discussionPrecursor, a prototyping tool I worked on, had "multiplayer" mode way before figma https://precursorapp.com/ I'm certain they were aware of it. We had a signup from a Figma domain in 2015 and I emailed them about Precursor in 2016 before they had implemented multiplayer.

HN discussionI was the main author of Circle's frontend (the code is open-source: https://github.com/circleci/frontend ). I went on to build Precursor ( https://precursorapp.com ), which uses Datascript ( https://github.com/tonsky/datascript ) to accomplish a lot of the things that Om Next promises. If you haven't tried Datascript, you should really take a look! It does require a bit of work to make datascript transactions trigg…

HN discussionI'm regularly hearing about web applications written in ClojureScript, a.k.a. Clojure (a dialect of Lisp, [1]) compiled to JavaScript. Recently I've heard of: - https://github.com/asciinema/asciinema-player - https://precursorapp.com/ (not open-source) [1] http://www.clojure.org/

HN discussionWrong guess. The project's repository has a list of things people built with DataScript. One of those is https://precursorapp.com It's highly usable, stable and fun app!

HN discussionI'm not a huge fan of remote teams for a number of reasons, but I've had some success with https://precursorapp.com/ as a quick collaborative whiteboard. I'd like to be able to use it inside Google Hangouts and have the whole session/artifacts recorded, which would cover a lot of the knowledge-spreading I miss. It doesn't do anything for the camaraderie/happiness/emotional aspects mentioned in the article though.

HN discussion> you need to have a very good excuse to launch something with WebRTC and not support Firefox. I built audio chat over webRTC for https://precursorapp.com [1]. I built support for both Firefox and Chrome, but I can understand why someone would choose not to support Firefox. There are lots of annoying little differences between the two implementations. For example, Firefox wouldn't fire a negotiationneeded event afte…
